About Me
Chef Kano
Chef Kano is a classically trained chef whose career has spanned from working as a sous chef in some of Washington, DC’s finest establishments to building his own culinary empire. With roots in Connecticut, a foundation in Northern California, and a thriving presence in Washington, DC, he brings a global perspective to every plate.
A proud graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, VA, and Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, Chef Kano blends formal training with a creative spirit. Guided by his Caribbean and Cajun heritage, his food is bold, soulful, and tailored. His motto, “You like it, I love it,” is more than a phrase; it is his promise to deliver excellence, no matter the occasion.
His career has touched every corner of the culinary world: intimate private dinners for high-profile clients, multi-day festivals serving thousands, and his nationally recognized catering and event company, Epicurean Experience Corp. Along the way, he has served NFL, NBA, MLB, and MLS athletes, elected officials, and governors, while also being a preferred caterer for major organizations like the Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, Omega Psi Phi, and Delta Sigma Theta.
Travel is at the heart of Chef Kano’s inspiration. He has explored more than 40 countries on six continents and dined at over 50 Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, from tacos in Mexico City to fine dining in São Paulo, Beijing, and his current hometown of Washington, DC. These journeys fuel his artistry, connecting global flavors with his signature touch.
Beyond food, Chef Kano is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and a die-hard Raiders fan, bringing the same passion, loyalty, and energy to the game as he does to his craft. Chef Kano’s story is one of heritage, culture, and global connection, a celebration of food as the universal language of excellence and experience.
